Lately I came into the habit of Cyprus Coffee rather than any other instant, filter or pressure steam coffees. While abroad my mornings now have a taste from Cyprus, a taste to remind me of home! Have a nice day everyone!

en eshi kaimakki!
ipia to kai meta efkala tin photo! :P
I love how this is called "Cyprus" coffee instead of "Turkish" or "Greek". From now on this is how I will serve it to foreigners, I like the neutrality that the name somehow (and ironically) contains ;)
oh come on cyprus coffee is not neutral! it's like when we tried to claim baklava as a cypriot thing, i'm serious, it was around 10 years ago i think!! of course nobody bought that!
though i like to take the piss of the triple name of the coffee :)
by the way, anybody enmeshed in the noble art of coffee-cup telling?
This kind of coffee used to be called by locals just "coffee" or "καφές" or "kahve" until the 80s where the instant coffee was introduced. Then the in front of the word coffee the location has been added!
For example in the arab world it is called "Arabic coffee", in turkey "Turkish coffee", in Cyprus "Cypriot Coffee", Egypt "Egyptian Coffee" etc. It is not about claiming anything! :p it is about the way you distinguish the local coffee from the western coffees that were introduced in the middle east, greece and turkey at later stages. :p
Whatever the case is, it is a unique kind of coffee with a beautiful strong coffee aroma which makes my day! :)
Btw I have never been present to a coffee-cup fortune telling and I would love to get this experience? :P anyone with the abilities?? :P
